Sealing of the burial of Senneferi

It is likely that all rock tombs were sealed in some form after the burial. The best-known is that of Tutankhamun of course. Probably what happened is that a wall was built of some material, perhaps mud brick, and then wet mud or clay was smeared over it, and then a seal was pressed onto this. In the burial chamber of Senneferi, we found a number of pieces of mud or clay, and some seem to have impressions on them. The following photograph shows what we think is the name of Senneferi.

It must be said that it is also possible that this sealing comes from a jar.
