News about the puppies

Readers may remember the puppies which formed part of our experience in Thebes last year. Nora Robertson, a young lady from Portland, Oregon, and a keen (and very good) young Egyptologist with whom I am in regular email contact, visited Thebes in December 2000 and her father took a couple of pictures of the puppies as they were then, outside the Sennefer Coffee Shop.

 Helen Strudwick visited the site in January 2001, and reported that two of the puppies, as usually happens in Qurna, had been taken off to act as guards in other houses in the neighbourhood.
